The Mycetoma Research Club

We are thrilled to introduce «The Mycetoma Research Club,» a weekly online meeting aimed at promoting collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mentorship among students, junior researchers, supervisors, senior researchers, and medical doctors focused on mycetoma. This initiative seeks to build a dynamic and supportive community where members can engage in insightful discussions, share research discoveries, and collectively work towards advancing our understanding and treatment of this challenging disease.

Aims & Objectives

«The Mycetoma Research Club» has been established to foster regular, structured interactions within our research community. Through our weekly online meetings, we aim to:
• Create a platform for presenting and discussing ongoing research projects, new findings, and innovative ideas.
• Provide mentorship, guidance and support to post-graduate students and junior researchers.
• Cultivate a supportive and collaborative problem-solving environment for its members
• Encourage interdisciplinary approaches to addressing the complex challenges associated with mycetoma.

Meetings Structure:

Our meetings will be held weekly and will follow a structured yet flexible format. Each session will typically include:

• A presentation or update from group members on their current research or a relevant topic.
• A discussion period where all participants can ask questions, provide feedback, and offer suggestions.
• Opportunities for networking, exploring fundraising prospects, and informal interactions to strengthen professional relationships.

We believe that uniting a diverse group of researchers and clinicians will significantly advance mycetoma research and patient and community management. Your participation and contributions will be invaluable to the success of this initiative.
We look forward to your positive response and to collaborating to further mycetoma research.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Warm regards,

Dr. Abdalla Ahmed, PhD
