Date: 30 January 2026
Call for Art Contributions
Theme
Celebrating progress against NTDs and highlighting ongoing actions to end them.

Overview
We invite artists, communicators, students, NGOs, health professionals, media crews, and creative organisations to design and produce compelling short videos, posters, photography series, or cartoons that celebrate World NTD Day on 30 January 2026.
The entry should educate, inspire action in the fight against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
Importance
- NTDs affect hundreds of millions worldwide, causing preventable illness, stigma, and economic hardship.
- Combating NTDs advances health, education, and sustainable development; every creative piece can mobilise communities, funders, and policymakers to accelerate interventions (disease prevention, Mass Drug Administration, WASH, surveillance, and health system strengthening).
- World NTD Day provides a platform to recognise progress, highlight remaining gaps, and inspire continued collaboration among governments, NGOs, communities, and international partners.
Objectives
- Raise awareness on what NTDs are, how they spread, and how they can be prevented and treated.
- Promote concrete actions: encourage participation in local screening campaigns, vaccination where applicable, deworming programmes, water and sanitation improvements, and reporting of suspected cases.
- Inspire youth, educators, health workers, and civil society to engage in NTD prevention and advocacy.
- Provide shareable, culturally resonant content suitable for social media, print, and community outreach.
- Mass drug administration campaigns targeting prevalent NTDs (e.g., soil-transmitted helminths, schistosomiasis) and efforts to strengthen supply chains for essential medicines.
- Community education initiatives addressing sanitation, behaviour change, and stigma reduction.
- Surveillance, data collection, and reporting efforts that track progress and guide interventions.
- Cross-sector collaboration integrating health with education, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) to reduce transmission risk.
- Youth and student involvement in advocacy, peer education, and community outreach.
- Highlight Sudan’s contributions to NTD prevention and control, including partnerships, programmes, and community-level actions (e.g., MDA campaigns, WASH initiatives, health education, and access to essential medicines).
- National and local partnerships with WHO, UNICEF, NGOs, and community health workers to implement NTD prevention and treatment programs.
