Mycetoma Health Promotion and Advocacy Training Workshop for Media Professionals
The Mycetoma Research Centre (MRC), University of Khartoum, WHO Collaborating Centre on Mycetoma in collaboration with Hope International Organisation had organised a three-day training workshop on Mycetoma health promotion, advocacy and awareness for Media Professionals in the period 2nd and 4th January 2021 at the Mycetoma Research & Development Arcade. There were 20 participants from different media specialists and that included comedians, journalists, radio and TV commentators, newspapers writers, poets, actors, fine artists, film editors and producers, public relations specialists, bloggers, sound engineers and art directors.

The Mycetoma Patients Vocational Training Centre Groundbreaking Ceremony
On the 18th of October 2020, the Mycetoma Patients Friends Association (MPFA) had the honour to organise with the Japan Embassy in Khartoum the Mycetoma Patients Vocational Training Centre (MPVTC) groundbreaking ceremony at the Mycetoma Research Centre (MRC), Soba University Hospital of the University of Khartoum under the patronage of HE Professor Intisar Soghayroun El-Zein, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The MPVTC is part of the Grass-Root project sponsor by the Japan Government.

Overview:
The Mycetoma Research Centre (MRC), University of Khartoum, a WHO Collaborating Centre on Mycetoma in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Sennar State, the Association of Aid & Relief, Japan (AAR), the Institute of Endemic Diseases (IEND), University of Khartoum, Sennar University had conducted a medical and health mission to Wad Onsa Village, Eastern Sennar locality, Sennar State in the period 8-10 January 2020. This is the seventh mission to the region.

Background
The Mycetoma Research Centre (MRC), University of Khartoum, WHO Collaborating Centre on Mycetoma in collaboration with Brighton and Sussex University, the Association of Aid & Relief-Japan (AAR) and the Institute of Endemic Diseases (IED), University of Khartoum, had conducted a field study to Wad Onsa village in the period 15th and 18th October 2019.
