Training Workshop on Good Clinical Laboratory Practice, Nairobi, Kenya, 5-7th March, 2019

As part of the continuous professional development activities of the Mycetoma Research Center, University of Khartoum staff, Dr Nagwa Joda and Miss Omina Babkhir had attended a training workshop on Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) in Kenya.

The workshop was organised at DoubleTree Hilton Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya in the period 5th to 7th of March 2019. Twenty five participants from different clinical trial research institutes laboratories in Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda had attended the workshop. Dr Varalakshmi Elango, who is a World Health Organization (WHO) and Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) consultant had facilitated the workshop.
The workshop had covered different aspects of GCLP principles and its application in clinical trials.  It was designed in a way that combined both to the theoretical and practical aspects of GCLP.
The trip to Nairobi, Kenya was not just learning and training mission, but it was also about discovering a new part of the world and having the chance to meet new people with diverse cultures.
