The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to support the Centre&#8217;s recovery and rehabilitation following the extensive damage it sustained.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, the delegation conducted a comprehensive tour of the MRC facilities, including the outpatient clinics, laboratories, administrative units, and patient care areas. They were briefed on the extent of the structural and functional damage to critical services, as well as the phased rehabilitation plan currently in place. Particular attention was given to restoring essential clinical and diagnostic services, which are vital to maintaining continuity of care for mycetoma patients.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Fu and his team also reviewed the progress achieved so far in the rehabilitation process. This included the refurbishment of key infrastructure, improvements in utilities, and the gradual reinstatement of research and training activities. The delegation expressed appreciation for the resilience and determination demonstrated by the MRC team in maintaining operations under challenging circumstances and in advancing the recovery process.<\/p>\n<p>The visit also provided an opportunity to evaluate the impact of the support provided by FuHong Construction and Roads &amp; Bridges Enterprise. The company has played a meaningful role in the rehabilitation efforts, contributing technical expertise, resources, and logistical support to help restore the Centre\u2019s functionality. Discussions during the visit explored avenues for continued collaboration, with a focus on accelerating the reconstruction process and enhancing the Centre\u2019s infrastructure to meet international standards.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the delegation engaged with MRC leadership to better understand the Centre\u2019s long-term vision, including its role as a global leader in mycetoma research, training, and patient care. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that the rehabilitation efforts not only restore the Centre to its previous capacity but also strengthen its ability to deliver advanced clinical services, conduct high-impact research, and serve as a regional and international hub for neglected tropical diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the visit of Mr Fu Xinqun and Eng Ahmed Gaili reaffirmed the strong partnership between the Mycetoma Research Centre and FuHong Construction, Roads &amp; Bridges Enterprise.
