This process is crucial for ensuring that the solutions developed by participants are effective and reliable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The performance of submitted algorithms will be quantitatively assessed using four primary metrics:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Sensitivity:<\/strong>\u00a0Measures the ability of the algorithm to correctly identify true positives, i.e., actual cases of Mycetoma.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specificity:<\/strong>\u00a0Assesses the algorithm\u2019s ability to identify true negatives, thereby avoiding false positives correctly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Accuracy:<\/strong>\u00a0Provides an overall measurement of the algorithm\u2019s performance across all test cases.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC):<\/strong>\u00a0A balanced measure which takes into account true and false positives and negatives and is particularly useful in classes of different sizes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These metrics were chosen to provide a comprehensive overview of each algorithm\u2019s performance, taking into account various aspects of diagnostic effectiveness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Evaluation Methods and Ranking The evaluation and ranking process for the Mycetoma MicroImage Challenge is designed to rigorously assess algorithms\u2019 performance in\u00a0both detecting and classifying\u00a0Mycetoma from histopathological images.
