It is now a registered charity association in Sudan with the number 2088. The Association is working with DAL Group-Sudan and Hagar Foundation-Sudan for the mobilization of community leadership and non-governmental organization to support the mycetoma patients\u2019 nationwide.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: brody; font-size: 36pt; color: #ff6600;\">What is Mycetoma?<\/span><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mycetoma is a chronic, progressively destructive morbid inflammatory disease. Usually, it affects the foot but any part of the body can be affected. Infection is most probably acquired by traumatic inoculation of certain fungi or \u200ebacteria into the subcutaneous tissue. It may spread to involve the skin and the deep structures, resulting in the destruction of bones, massive deformity, disability and loss of function, which may require amputation of the affected part. Mycetoma could occasionally be fatal.
