Dr. Rowa Fathelrahman

Research Assistant,

Mycetoma Research Center

As part of the continuous professional development activities of the Mycetoma Research Center, University of Khartoum staff, I had the chance to attend the Summer Program of Epidemiology at Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was an excellent introduction to the various Epidemiology concepts and its practical application in scientific research. It was conducted by highly professional experts from different parts of the world, and it was designed in a way that combined both to the theoretical and practical aspects of Epidemiology. The duration of the program was three weeks. Every week a new topic was discussed. The programme had enlightened and broadened my Epidemiology knowledge

The trip to the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, Netherlands was not just learning and training mission, but it was also about discovering a new part of the world and having the chance to meet new people with diverse cultures. My trip to Netherlands had definitely contributed to my professional knowledge and career development goals as well as my personal experience. Lastly, I voice out my deepest gratitude to the Mycetoma Research Center for offering me such a great opportunity.
