Sennar State is located in the southeastern part of Sudan with 37,844 kmĀ² and a population of approximately 1,100,000. Gezira State borders it to the north, White Nile State to the west, Gedaref State to the east, and Blue Nile State and South Sudan to the South.
Eastern Sennar locality consists of five administrative units, and these are Dooba, Wad Al-Abbas, Wad Taktook, Alreef Alsharqi, Wad Onsa, with 292 villages and 353,196 inhabitants
Wad Onsa village is located in the north-eastern part of the state, on the west bank of the Aldindir River at 37 kilometres from Sennar town. It is considered one of the major Alsuki Foundation agricultural villages.
